I grew up in a small town in eastern Missouri. With a fishing pole in my hand and a camera that I stole from my mother in my pocket, I had dreams of one day writing for the ‘Missouri Conservationist’. My mind was always consumed by the image of what could be in the next valley over. This insatiable curiosity has since fueled my very existence. Curiosity of what else I could push myself to.

Life takes you down avenues you don’t always expect, and near the end of my short-lived college football career at the University of Kansas, I found myself pursuing a career in the Army. That career has taken me to places that I never thought I would go as a kid in rural Missouri.

I’ve lived across the lower 48 and Alaska; had the opportunity to fill tags and catch trout in every American time zone. I have learned throughout my experiences that the only things that can’t be done, are the things you choose not to dedicate yourself to. Be a dreamer of the day, and go see what the next ridge over has to offer.
