In the first episode of Hunt Unguided, Nate Kalish recounts an Alaskan black bear hunt with his friend, combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Jeremiah. Black bear hunting had been a life long dream for Jeremiah, up until he met Nate. Following Jeremiah’s return home from a tour in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army where he lost two of his close friends, Nate was more than happy to help turn Jeremiah’s dream into a reality. As I watched this Ice Age remnant take his final breaths, I was overcome by my surroundings. “What an amazing animal, to be able to thrive in such a brutal landscape.” I thought to myself.

For a very reasonable trespassing fee, we secured 16,000 contiguous acres with no one else hunting on it.  That’s roughly 30 square miles all to ourselves.
