Great Friends for the Last 10 Minutes
March 15, 2020
I was at the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo for ten minutes before meeting Ed Arnette. He was talking with my friend Paul Neese - a man renowned as being the nicest guy you'll ever meet. When I saw their camaraderie, I realized that this guy must be an alright fella. So, I poked in to say hi to Paul, I saw that his friend's shirt said TRCP on it, and a conversation ensued. Ten seconds later I said, "man, we should sit down for a podcast. I think I'd we could be friends too." He said, "sure thing. But you better hurry, I'm about to leave."
Ten minutes later we met at the Initial Ascent booth and were talking about gun dogs, the North American Conservation model, large carnivore management and all the ways that Ed has learned the value in "Paying it back". His stories were genuine. He was a perfect guest. I can't wait to talk with him again and to hunt the Nebraska sandhills together. Enjoy
